The new 2015 Acura TLX is a very interesting automotive, and not just because it straddles 2 size classes, providing the space of a midsize sedan in something closer to the footprint of a compact. In replacing the former Acura TSX and TL, the TLX brings a host of new technology to bear on the near premium segment.

External features

The head-turning, flamboyant exterior design of the 2015 Acura TLX is quite the icebreaker. This crossover is a charming outlier and has a carefully calculated outside job that breaks free of the utility vehicle mold in numerous meaningful ways. With the features such as V-motion grilles with its lines continuing upwards and onwards to the hood lines, boomerang style headlights and taillights that frame the most expressive curves and creases in any production model nowadays. Additionally, it has unique floating roofs that have blacked out pillars as well as distinct arcs in the beltlines which pinch it upward near the tails. The sculpting of the side-body is particularly stunningly beautiful and visually interesting with flowing creases above its bulging front fender, tapering downwards and inwards to form a unique beltlines. Meanwhile, towards its tail lamps, the window lines have upward swoops that arch back down towards the rear lamp, playing off as riffs on that arch above its front wheel.

2015 Acura TLX Internal features

Internal features

With a major redesign, the 2015 Acura TLX boasts greatly improved interiors. Inside, it is all about luxury and comfort with its long consoles that extend past the front seats providing rear seat occupants with their own charging option. The 2015 TLX has the similar zero-gravity seat designs as does the latest Acura TLX. It utilizes dense foam for added comfort and luxury over longer trips which Acura have claimed comes from the fatigue-free neutral seating position that N.A.S.A. are credited for Acura also claims this model has the most spacious cargo region within its segment. Incredibly, the cargo space can swallow up to four large size suitcases even with its rear seats still in place.

Engine and performance

The newer 2015 Acura TLX’s powertrain should be quite familiar. The crossover offers 206 HP, 2.4-liter V-6 4 cylinder engines which can thrust about 206 lb. feet of torque. This powerful engine is paired with continuously variable transmission systems. While C.V.T.s can greatly improve the TLX’s fuel economy, they generally add to the powertrain noise and feel quite slow to respond. The TLX’s CVT system is very easily the least attractive part of the entire package.

Fuel economy

In the 2015 model year Acura have brought in numerous number of changes to both the V6 engine with an aim at making mileage improvements. Subsequently, the 2015 Acura TLX fuel ratings have gone up to around 24 Miles Per Gallon for city driving and 35 miles per gallon for normal highway driving .
